Here you can find resources to help support your child at school and also to learn Gaelic yourself. The flowchart below shows a number of different options currently available. All of the QR code links are also listed in the “Taic do parantan” section below, but the flowchart should help you decide which path is best for you.

Taic do Phàrantan | help for parents
- Learn Gaelic – Bòrd na Gàidhlig have an online dictionary and thesaurus as well as other learning resources on this page.
- Speak Gaelic – free to use course to learn to speak Gaelic, funded by the Scottish Government, Bòrd na Gàidhlig, MG Alba and the BBC.
- Gaelic Education – the umbrella website from Storlann about learning through GME with resources for parents as well as schools
- Gaelic Medium Education in Scotland – Bòrd na Gàidhlig provide information about GME, including links to Statutory Guidance.
- Comunn na Gàidhlig (CnaG) – offer opportunities to young people to use Gaelic in fun, social settings, rather than them only having the opportunity to use Gaelic in the classroom.
- Comann nam Pàrant – the national parents’ advice and support organisation on Gaelic Medium Education.
- University of Edinburgh language courses – courses in Gaelic by the University of Edinburgh

- Cearcall Còmhraidh – Gaelic conversation class in Edinburgh

- e-sgoil Misneachd – a programme to support pupils with all aspects of Gaelic literacy. This currently runs in Taobh na Pàirce for c2-4.
- ASL information for younger years – Lots of information about upcoming events in Edinburgh and support for parents with ASN children.
